Here are three of of my favourite Bible passages.  Find a Bible and look one (or all of them) up.

  • Micah 6:8
  • James 1:27
  • Matthew 25:31-46

Do you see a theme?  If you can explain what these verses are about, you will be given recognition and a standing ovation from the entire 6E class.:)

Toyia Sekento, 6, holds a goat that her family is raising. Her family received the goat because her father is part the Najile, Kenya, self-help group, supported by Mennonite Central Committee. The goats are an incentive for the formation of 60 self-help groups among the Maasai people in Kenya who each work together to do community projects. (MCC Photo/Matthew Kistler)

All of us have one life to live, or “one coin to spend”, how will you live yours?

Here are some organizations that are made of people who are passionate about spending their lives to give hope to others.  You will be researching these charities in class and sharing what you learn with your classmates:
Caritas

Plan Canada

Free the Children

Canadian Red Cross

Samaritan’s Purse (Operation Christmas Child)

Unicef Canada

What a great project! Best of luck to students researching charities in this grade 6 class. A lot of wonderful organizations are working hard to help those who are most vulnerable all over the world and in our communities.
